Hello to you all. Although this is my first post here, I'm a Directory Opus user since the "ancient" times of its Amiga versions, and then I used all the following versions from 6 to 10 on PCs.
Recently I tried to manage some metadata in pictures created by a Nikon camera and found an incorrect behaviour that IMHO could be a bug of Directory Opus.
I open the folder containing the pictures and then the metadata panel by pressing F9. The typical operation I do is rotating some pictures. I click in the lister to select the thumbnail of a picture, the metadata panel shows the EXIF data in the picture, and I change from 0 to 270 degrees the "Rotation" field in "Picture properties". When I click on "Apply" in the metadata panel, the thumbnail in the lister is refreshed and appears rotated, but upside-down. Double clicking on the thumbnail shows also the relevant image upside-down. However this is not the effect of a wrong angle rotation inserted by me. In fact, as soon as I force a refresh of lister contents, the thumbnail is reset and appears in the correct orientation, and double-clicking on it I view the picture in the correct orientation, too. This happens with the latest beta of Directory Opus 10 (64-bit).
The lister refresh effect seems to suggest that the problem is neither in the thumbnails nor in the pictures, but is a problem of Directory Opus (at least with Nikon images).
I tried the new beta 10.5.2.5
It seems that the rotation is correct. But if you try to rotate the same image a second time the thumbnail in the lister is no longer updated.
It happens to you?
I reinstalled the 524 and it works fine (apart from the orientation).
The thumbnail is always up to date
Reinstalled the 525 and began to not update it more
With version 10.5.2.4 the thumbnail is updated, even if the preview is incorrect because of the bug reported in post #1.
From later version the thumbnail is correct, but does not update the lister, when I rotate the image, the thumbnail does not rotate
