Mount ISOs

Great upgrade with v11!!!

I installed v11 on two computers with only 1 very minor problem. On one computer, "Mount" will display in context menu when I right click an ISO, and on the other computer it does not. Instead it shows "Always available offline". Why the difference and how can I get "Mount" to show up in the context menu of the second computer? One other bit of information; I installed the "xxx - Opus Config - 08-Mar-2014.ocb" backup from the computer that has the mount command in the context menu so I would have thought everything would be the same.

Thank you for your help!!!

The "mount" context menu item isn't part of Opus itself, so the answer will depend on where it's coming from on the machine where you can see it.

Is it a 3rd party tool, or something built into your version of Windows?

Can you see it in Windows Explorer on either or both machines?

Do you see it in Opus if you hold shift while right-clicking?

  1. It is built into every Windows v8/8.1.
  2. I can see "Mount" in both boxes using File Explorer when right clicking an ISO.
  3. I do not see "Mount" when shift right clicking with Dopus.
  4. I do have PowerDVD installed on the box that "Mount" does not show up. That might be an issue, but PowerDVD does not have the ability to mount ISOs.

Thank you for your help!!!

If you look in Settings -> File Types, do you have a .ISO file type on both machines?

Maybe PowerDVD created the missing .ISO file type which made things work. Windows 8 seems to ship with tools that handle aspects of file types like PDF and ISO but Microsoft forgot to actually create some of the types in the registry, it seems.

Fixed!!!

The ISO File Type was listed, but not associated with Windows Explorer (supposedly it was renamed to File Explorer in W8.1). Once I associated it with the File Explorer shortcut located here: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\System Tools, it started working after a reboot.

I should have said: I can now right click on an ISO in Dopus and the Mount icon will display.

All your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
