Hello,
while moving files and folder to another folder/or drive I have noticed, that the colorcoding is vaninished after I moved the files.
Where can I set inside the default or else, that colors of folder and files should remain, while moving or copying?
Go to Prefs, then Favorites and Recent, then create a New Wildcard label assignment similar to the screen grab below. Note you need to keep the basic folder structure to maintain the colors.
Hi John,
hm, well I am not sure if I understand this correct. I did it the same way like in in screenshot and it works for files like "*.lnk" etc
But maybe I have explaine it wrong or it can not be done..
So let say I have an interesting mp3 song or a picture, I color code this file red, then I move it into another folder and the color is changed to the default color - but its not red anymore.
Each label applies to a path, not the file/folder currently at that path.
There are pros & cons to both ways of working; that's just how it works right now.
There's been some discussion about allowing labels which follow things when they are moved, but it's only discussion so far. (If you want something like that, using tags is better, although won't give you different coloured filenames etc.)
