MyDockFinder makes Opus 13.8 close constantly

After upgrading to version 13.8 It closes constantly.

I started using the trial version of the product 4 days ago to test it. I was really enjoying it.
until I upgraded to version 13.8 and now Opus keeps closing constantly, as if it were locking up and shutting down,

basically when I try to do anything.

can anyone tell me why? or do we need to roll back a version?

Thanks, I'll try that now.

Which version were you using before?

Have you tried going back to it to verify it was the update and not something else changing?

Are any crash logs created? Automatic crash logs (for bug reports)

Is there any pattern to when the problem happens? E.g. A particular action, or going into a particular folder, or folders with particular file types (e.g. videos)?

Hi, thanks for replying. well, basically...i downloaded version 13.7 and on the second day, the update to version 13.8 appeared. as for the crashes, they started after this update and they are a bit annoying. sometimes when I try to open a folder, sometimes when I try to go to "customize" sometimes when I go to "rename" and sometimes during normal use opening the folders in the explorer. I still can't figure out what's causing it. I found in Help* the option to send the error logs. but before nothing appeared.. but now when I type this message there is something there. well, that's it.

I made a video showing the constant failures of Opus, I loved the program and was planning to present to the Director of our video production company in Brasil. but with these constant failures it is difficult to show something. I would love to be able to solve this.

thank you all for your help.

Did you send the error logs in? We need those to understand what's crashing.

These guides may also help, if the problem is caused by a shell extension something has installed:

I have some news!

I think I found the problem.

Apparently, Opus has a conflict with the program "MyDockFinder" (Steam)...

I noticed that after closing the program process, Opus no longer crashed. (I also updated to version 13.9, which may have had an impact)

But here's a tip for the developers, please check this out.

I love Windows, but I also like the look of MAC, which is why I created this software to give my Windows a boost.

But with this conflict, unfortunately I will have to stop using one of the two.
Rafael from the Brazilian channel "Canal WINchester" gave me this tip and it worked very well.

No trial version, and only installable via Steam, makes it quite hard for us to test/debug with it.

I can't think why it would be involved with Opus or vice versa, but maybe it's installing a shell extension which crashes or something similar.

Basically, according to what Rafael said, which he noticed in the same video I sent. Opus always crashes during the window animations that are from "MyDockFinder".

I bought MyDockFinder through Steam, and it gives me these window animations and some effects. probably Opus doesn't have compatibility with the window effects or the program's own effects conflict with MyDockFinder.

Today I closed the MyDockFinder process and I'm using my windows normally and in fact, Opus isn't giving me any errors or crashing and closing.

I'm using the trial version of Opus to test its use and its advantages, but I really like using MyDockFinder and it helps me a lot, which makes me doubtful about subscribing to the paid version of Opus.

If there are corrections, that would be great, but at the end of the trial period, if it's still crashing, I probably won't subscribe for our company's computers.

If MyDockFinder is replacing window animations with its own custom ones and those crash some programs, it’s something the developers of MyDockFinder would need to fix.

Personal opinion here as I've used quite intensively docks like these in the past.
They're cute, show nice effects, even provide efficiency for their ability to give quick access to often used folders or applications.
But from my point of view, that's way behind what Directory Opus can offer in terms of efficiency.
Sure, you will not get the fancy animations, but in terms of giving quick access to frequent folders, applications, personal customized actions (buttons, scripting, etc ...), I've yet to see something that beats Opus to it !!
Just saying this because you mention subscription for a company's computers : if I was in such a position, I'd favor productivity and all the potential behind Opus over a docking application.
As said at the beginning, this is just a personal opinion, and I may not have the full picture of what you are trying to achieve with this company's computers.

It might be wroth a try to turn off Preferences / User Interface / Transition Animations / Enable transition animations as the transitions use DWM thumbnails, which MyDockFinder might break in some way if it aims to replace the Windows taskbar, perhaps.

But you really need to talk to the MyDockFinder developers about this. Sounds like Opus isn't the only thing it crashes.
