first up I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place
Ok, I have this problem with DOpus and my home network, let's call the computers A(Win7), B(Win7) and C(XP). A has Dopus installed and is used to transfer files to B which basically acts as a file server to C and others. What happens is, after transferring files from A to B, C will have lost connection with B, the only way to get the connection back is to reboot B. I don't understand why this is happening. This is definitely caused by using DOpus as there is no problem if using Explorer instead.
Hey, I'm no techie, hope I've explained this well enough, any help is appreciated...
You might be seeing a side-effect, e.g. lots of data arriving from one machine might flood the network and make the other machine's connection time-out.
Or if you have 3rd party anti-virus or firewall software on either of the machines where the network connection is dropped, it may be worth trying without those. Maybe some pattern of file transfers which Opus does is confusing them.
Seems unlikely, though, especially if it only happens when one program sends that data and not others. All Opus really does is open a file handle and write data to it, pretty much the same as any other program would.
