Nikon NEF exif metadata not showing in metadata pane

Nikon NEF exif metadata not showing in metadata pane. I can see exif metadata for other image types (jpg, dng). I can see nef exif metadata in the PhotoExif script addon for dopus. I can see it in windows properties, and fastrawviewer, just not in the dopus metadata pane.

These are nef raw files from a Nikon Z8

Any suggestions?

The Image Viewer on the right shows EXIF data only for JPGs and not raw images

The metadata panel is for editing metadata, not for displaying it. (File display columns and infotips can be used to display it.) We treat raw formats as read-only, for a few reasons, and that means the metdata panel can’t do much with them.
