I am new to this program, having migrated from PowerDesk recently. My problem is that I obviously have changed something, as all my drives no longer display their names, they are all just "Local Disk" and then their drive letter. I have been thru the preferences twice, and cannot find anything that would seem to turn on or off the displaying of their actual names. The drive names show in Drive Management (I am using Win7 64 bit). Any clues as to how I can turn display drive names back on?
Anyway joking aside, Opus gets the names from the shell (Explorer), so we have to sort out why Explorer is getting them wrong.
A quick bit of googling finds this thread - sevenforums.com/hardware-dev ... lorer.html - that suggests a program called "Ninja Pendisk" may be to blame. Do you have this installed? The fact that in your screenshot above I can see a folder called "Autorun.inf" suggests that you may have that or something similar.
Nice catch ... Viruses can throw autorun files on drive roots to help spread too. I am pretty sure autorun files can control all sorts of stuff .. drive icons, and even the display name - but I'm not totally sure on that.
I had a problem called WinMate that supposedly turned off AutoRun that added all those Autorun.inf folders and files. I have since deleted them. I will try deleting the autoruns, and see if that returns the Drive names.
And P used to be biggest, until it died from overuse, and I replaced it and another with the 2T drive. :->
