Javier Mendoza (Nicaragua) here. I am a professor of both English and Spanish at a small, local University. I found out that there's no tool to edit the Spanish OPUSML file, since this is not an XML file. However, I have found out so far 2 lapsus calami (typing errors) on the Spanish translation, and you people can see them by yourselves at the uploaded files (erros are yellow-rounded). However I also discovered several poor translations:
- File should be "Archivo" not "Fichero" (a mistranslation from French)
- Default should be "Predeterminado (a)" not "Por defecto" (Another mistranlation from French)
- Lister should be "Listado" not "Lister" (There's no such a word in Spanish)
- Icon should be "Icono" not "Ícono"
- Delay should be "Demora" not "Retardo" (a pun word in Spanish)
- Application should be "programa" (Programa is for the PC world. "Aplicación" only exists in the Android ecosystem)
- Script should be "Secuencia de comandos" (There's no such a word like "Script" in Spanish, only as a too technical computing world)
- Sometimes you use "Ustedeo" (formal Spanish) and sometimes you use "Tuteo" (informal Spanish). Both of them are wrong, since Neutral addressing should be used whenever possible.
SPECIAL NOTICE: Of course, I'm not saying that whoever made the translation dindn't do a good job. He or she or they did a GREAT job, but it can be improved. In fact, it should be improved
I am perfectly aware that, since your language is English, you people can't see the relevance of what I am trying to say. But your goals are the same as mine: Accuracy, Exactness, Reachabilty and Proper Language Use.
Should you need any help at the Translation team, I would be glad to join them (ad honores, of course).
