No Rclick c-menu v12.20 but Yes on v12.22-23
I've just spent the craziest 1.5 days w/ this glitch -
I finally got my "Solution" but I don't understand my "Answer"!
I'd suddenly lost Rclick context menu response whilst clicking on either:
folder or Drive backgrounds in dOpus.
I did NOT have this issue a couple days before -
whilst I was creating .reg files for both single-entry and cascading context menus -
creating them mainly under HKCR\Directory\Background\shell.
Except now I was back and forth between re-imaging/updating on w7sp1 Ultimate -
not realizing that my "problem" was occurring whilst updating an older/previous image
which was running dOpus v12.20 x64.
Then I got an inspiration to check dOpus v. number -
and after "re-installing" v12.22 - suddenly everything was working again!
(and just now installed v12.23 & everything working fine w/ Rclick too)
Any ideas why?
What follows are some system notes I was preparing to post here
along w/ my question, before I suddenly got my "Solution" :
dOpus does respond to "Admin CMD Here" while Rclicking ANYWHERE -
backgrounds, files, folders, Drives.
I run under the default user/Admin account created during w7 install (not as Admin ONLY),
w/ UAC OFF.
I'm not exceeding the context menu 15-16 entry limit.
Prefs > Explorer Replacement > Don't Replace Explorer
Prefs > Folders > Global Filters > all unchecked
Prefs > Miscellaneous > Windows Integration > all unchecked
I've been creating .reg files for both single-entry and cascading context menus -
creating them mainly under HKCR\Directory\Background\shell.
They all execute successfully whilst Rclicking either folder or Drive backgrounds
in Windows Explorer, but not dOpus.
I re-created my files under HKCU\Software\Classes\Directory\Background\shell ,
but it didn't seem to make any difference.
The only recent changes in dOpus I can identify are
Prefs > Folder Behaviour > Use 'descript.ion file comments system instead of NTFS comments"
b/c I wanted my colored folders to carry over the color when copying to another drive/machine.
So I unchecked that, but it didn't make any difference.
I also just setup file/folder sharing between a couple other machines running off
the same 10 port GB ethernet switch --
using Network Sharing - Properties - Security - Add a Network Location
type configuration -- NOT HomeGroups.
I'll really appreciate help to correct this!
ps - while writing this post, I only see a button lower Left "Create Topic" -
is there no Preview mode?
