No re-arrangement of shortcuts in a folder

I have been all over help and preferences attempting to find a way to stop DOPUS from doing ANY rearranging the icons in a folder.

Allow me to make this precise: Say I make a folder named "Applications"; then I place shortcut icons for various applications in that folder; I set the sort options for that folder to "manual". At this point sure enough the icons no longer change their sort order from what I arranged; however, if I drag an icon down to the bottom of the displayed "Applications" folder's window (so as to separate it from all the other icons above), DOPUS snaps the icon right back to the end of the all the displayed icons. Can I stop this?

Manual Sort lets you re-order things but it doesn't let you have gaps.

Too bad. I am one of those folks who stayed on WXP until recently. DOPUS and WXP Windows Explorer both allowed gaps. I found that a convenient way to separate often used shortcuts from hardly ever used shortcuts.

Seems like there should be a way to say: "Leave all the icons in this folder exactly the way I've arranged them."
