We've been looking into this and made a few (mostly small, but could add up) performance improvements which will likely be in the next beta.
Can't say for sure if they will fix any particular problem yet. If anyone can make process snapshots during the delay, those may still help.
If there's a lot of disk access during the delay, process monitor logs may also reveal the cause.
