I prefer to have my files sorted in numeric order, so that they are arranged 1, 2, 3, . . . 10, 11 etc., rather than 1, 10, 11 . . . 2, 3 etc.
I have enabled the "numeric order filename sorting" option under "Tools, Folder Options, Display," saved the "current folder format," and applied the changes to replace all existing saved formats. After doing this, my directories and files do sort in numeric order--for a while. But, as used to happen when I ran Vista x64 and as also happens now when I am running Win7 X64, the files are sorted in numeric order after I apply the settings, but after a period of time the directories/files do not appear in numeric order, even though the settings have not changed and the ""numeric order filename sorting" box is checked.
Sometimes closing DO and reopening it will put things back in order; sometimes I have to go back into the formatting options and apply the settings again (without actually making any changes) to get the sorting working again.
Am I missing something or is this a bug in DO running in an x64 environment?
