I don't understand the Office 2003 toolbar. All I get are yellow smiley faces for buttons. When I click on them, I get an error message stating:
MSI:{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}{1EBDE4BC-9A51-4630-B541-2561FA45CCC5}
"The Parameter is incorrect"
When I look at the buttons I see that in the function box is:
"MSI:{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}{1EBDE4BC-9A51-4630-B541-2561FA45CCC5}"
and the Start In box has:
"C:\WINDOWS\Installer{90110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9}"
Is the something I have to do to configure these buttons or the toolbar? I have Office 2003 installed and it works properly when launched from the start menu. I tried this toolbar in the 8.2.1.0 and now the 8.2.2.0 versions.
Did you install Office in any special way? The MSI... numbers assume it's been installing using the MSI installer, but that's the usual way to install it so there might be something else going on here.
You can always edit the toolbar to point to the relevant executables directly instead.
I use Setup.exe with a .MST file to apply my custom settings.
I did check in C:\windows\install directory and I do have the referenced folder there. ({91110409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9})
In that folder are 14 files. Example files are:
wordicon.exe
xlicons.exe
accicons.exe
Eds.MST
etc.
Maybe it is because I have Office delete the install files after installing? I know it likes to keep a folder on the hard drive with all the setup files. But that is not in the install folder.
Forget all this. The issue is one of the paths used by the install (or installer) on different machines. You can edit this in the normal manner to correct the paths but we've provided a different mechanism now which should work for all systems.
Please install 8.2.2.0 and you'll find a new Office toolbar.
You can edit the application path if you wish but as I said you don;t need to. Load the new toolbar supplied with 8.2.2.0. It's just called Office. Right click a toolbar and select Toolbars-> then Office.
If you installed 8.2.2 as an update then you will find this toolbar in program folder\Buttons.
