After i had lots of 'smilies' replaced by new icons from an imported icon set, i can see those 'smilie' icons flashing up briefly, whenever i click one of those buttons.
Related issue: having replaced an icon in Prefs PAGE="labels", it looks ok in the lister now. So the new icon is shown correctly. But when i drag it to the new favorites bar, the old one is displayed, permanently.
Edit/additional info: the icon doesn't come from an icon set in this case, but is a custom one from an loose icon collection. As seen in the screenshot, the upper folder icon still shows the old Adobe graphic. It was dragged to the Favs bar directly from the folder below.
The buttons probably have a second icon assigned to them (shown when the mouse is down on them), which is still missing.
Not sure if that's the case (no 'dual' option is selected). See the image below, where you still can see the old smilie icon, even though the new icon is already assigned. Being out of edit mode, it looks alright.
Leo, i have assigned another icon now, and it is like you said, holding down the mouse button shows the second one. But i can't find any place that would show me, where there is a dual icon option.
What type of button is it?
They are three-way buttons, with each function having their own icon. Holding down their according button shows the correct image (after i have changed the icon for the main button)
The question is answered now, no irregularity here. I just didn't realize, that the main button icon for LMB is not identical with what is set in the three way button for LMB, and having restored an older backup showed, that the smilie was indeed still present at first, before i reapplied a different icon. As for the other effect i described (having different icons for the same folder, Lister vs. Favs) i have no explanation. If you like, i can post that part in a thread of its own. Thanks, as always.
Three-buttons have separate definitions for the top-level button (when nothing is pushed) and each of the left, right and middle button clicks inside them. You probably haven't changed all of the icons the button uses here.
