Is it possible to select a series of folders and have them opened up in mass as a series of tabs... open each folder in it's own unique tab?
Select your folders, right click, and choose "Open in new folder tab"
If that doesn't work then goto SETTINGS/FILE TYPES, and select ALL FOLDERS then EDIT. In the next dialog box choose the CONTEXT MENU tab, and add an entry like the one shown in red below.
It is, and I am working on a User Command for it. When I'm finished, I will post it in the Toolbars forum and update this thread. I still have to work out a couple of kinks.

I'm sitting here coding a user command (a rather eloquent one even), and I already had John's suggestion in my Context Menu. Man what a day I'm having.... 
Argh!!! it was there in the context menu but for some reason I didn't try selecting it.
