I had set Opus 9 to open to a specific folder, each time Opus was loaded. This folder was one of my "favorites". But I then decided that I would like it to open to the last open lister, when Opus was shut down.
So I went into Settings>Preferences>Launching Opus>Startup, and I selected the radio button that said to open to the last lister, when Opus was shut down.
I then switched to a another folder, and shut down. But when I reloaded Opus 9, it was at the original folder that I wanted to change from. No matter what folder I have loaded when I shut down, it reopens to the old folder I had called for, before I made the change..
If I am doing something incorrectly I can't spot it.
Type /dopuslocaldata into the Opus location bar, then go into State Data and open openlisters.oll in Notepad or the Opus viewer panel.
There should be a bunch of XML data, and you should be able to see some folder paths within it. What are the paths? Do they match where you were when you last exited Opus?
Note that the Startup setting is about actually exiting Opus, and then starting it again. It is not about what happens when you close all Opus windows but do not actually quit the program. (By default Opus stays running in the background, though it can be told not to.)
If that's the source of confusion, you should set the Startup option to open the default lister instead, and then turn on Preferences / Listers / Options: Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister.
I went right to the Preferences / Listers / Options: Update Default Lister automatically when closing a Lister
And I followed the steps you noted. Opus now opens with the last visited lister.
I do recognize that Opus stays running in the BG. But I had tried killing it there, and even tried a reboot, but that did not help. This situation is somewhat confusing in the preferences. But of course, Opus is still superb, and reigns supreme.
