Options for "unattended" Delete don't make sense

When I do lots of deletes I essentially get the same unattended options as I do with move or copy but the options for move or copy make no sense for a delete.

They're for all jobs in that queue, which could include copy/move operations if you then queue up more tasks.

Options that aren't relevant to deletion don't matter if all you're doing is deleting things. Similarly, the Resume (FTP only) option doesn't matter if you aren't doing things with FTP sites, etc.

There probably should be some options for delete... like ignore locked file, delete non-empty folder and probably several others that will stop a delete from processing.

Delete either succeeds or it fails. If it fails in unattented mode, the error goes into the log and Opus moves on to the next file. There's nothing to gain from having different categories of error there, as there are no other unattended actions to do after a delete fails other than skip that item or abort entirely.

I've started massive deletes and left home came back several hours later only to find the thing was sitting on an error after the first minute or so. That's annoying. Does the unintended option do anything on a delete?

Access denied, or folder contains files, or whatever variants there are you're saying there's nothing that can be done but skip or abort. I think what you mean is they're harder to put into buckets because MS hasn't done the best job of dealing with the delete and it's resulting errors. There are tons of software dealing with copying and moving files but none that ensure a clean delete. If you could log the errors and "skip" over them that would be better than having the process come to a complete halt imo.

Deletes, even of huge directory structures don't usually take long at all. Why do you need to go away and leave it for hours?

Bypassing the recycle bin may speed things up slightly if it's slow when using the recycle bin for some reason. That will also let you have more control over errors, since Opus can handle those deletes while deletes to the Recycle Bin have to go through the Windows shell API that then handles all the details itself.

I think that's just how it worked out that day. I had to go do something and left it to delete stuff and came back and it had done nothing.

I wish I would have timed this one. It was around 35k files over assorted directories. Unfortunately the log only holds 1000 events so no telling from that. What's the difference between a standard log and a maximum log? I changed it but didn't see anything change.

A lot of time because I'm working over a network the Recycle bin isn't even an issue but I do know that hack.

You said I could create or modify a button to either not start processing immediately or that would let me set the unintended option, however; I typically use right-click drag-n-drop. Is there a way to edit that sub-menu that is dispayed upon dropping your items?

Settings - File Types... - All files and folders - File Type - Drop Menu

To delete files?!

Oops...wrong place. I think #8 forward has gone wrong.
