Opus 9.5 Performance Issues

Am I the only one having serious performance issues with 9.5? The previous 9.1.x version worked fine on both machines (I have a 2-machine licence), but since the upgrade:

  • The 'not responding' message is a constant friend;
  • it often won't update changes automatically;
  • occasionally it hangs entirely (sometimes also completely locking the file that was highlighted).

The only change I've made is the upgrade - I've added no third party components, I'm not looking at weird file types (they are mostly program source code or Office docs), and don't believe I'm doing anything strange.

Anyone else seeing this?

Thanks

John B

Sounds like what two other people are seeing but nobody knows why yet.

Try following these FAQs if you want to help track down the cause:

[ul][li]Crash, exit or high CPU usage when viewing certain directories[/li]
[li]Crash, exit or high CPU usage when right-clicking certain files[/li]
[li]General slowdown or instability investigation steps[/li][/ul]

Thanks, I'll have a look there - although it may take some time. BTW I don't run Tortoise, or Alcohol, and the 'Use shell image extraction ...' was switched off anyway. This is all under Vista Ultimate.

One other comment is that it rarely completely crashes; it just goes into this weird mode where it runs like a hungover pig in a straightjacket.
