Here's the new version of OpusMediaInfo.
latest alpha: Download from here
I'm posting it here so I don't make the script's main post impossible to follow.
It would really help if you could test it and help find any issues before the final version.
Changes:
- Uses an .exe helper for both MediaInfo and a SQLite database.
- The database now takes file size and modification date into account before checking the QuickHash.
- New way to format infotip values: you can now provide a fourth value specifying a conversion/format. The syntax is pretty similar to Evaluator's As function, although it's mainly geared toward the kind of values MediaInfo commonly returns (especially dates). Example:
{File_Created_Date||Created: %1|date}: the fourth part tells it to convert the value to the date type, using the local format. - Each infotip now has a dropdown to easily include values. Once you select an entry, it's copied to the clipboard, ready to paste wherever you need it.
- If a category other than script is specified for a column, it will now be added to both categories.
- Various other code changes.
Requirements:
- Windows 10 1803 or higher (due to the intercommunication with the helper).
- Directory Opus 13.25 or higher.
Notes:
- You need to manually copy the helper to
/dopusdata\User Data\OpusMediaInfo\mediainfo_helper.exe. You can download it here. (The script will also check for it and show you a dialog with relevant links.) - You need
MediaInfo.dll, which you can download from here (choose the 64-bit DLL version without the installer). You can place it alongside the helper, or if you already have it somewhere on your system, there's an option in the Script Options to set its path. - If you need localization (non-English users), place the corresponding
.csvlanguage files alongside the.dllor the helper. It's a good idea to do this before the database starts being populated. - Since the database has been changed to sqlite, you no longer need Access installed, but a new database will be created (the old one can't be imported at the moment).
About the new database
There's currently no way to import your previous database, but if needed, it should be fairly easy to do (even by asking an AI) with some script or similar to import an .mdb database into a sqlite .db.
Keep the following in mind if you decide to do so:
- The new format includes a table called
media, with the columnspath, quickhash, filesize, modified, report, andupdated_at. filesizeis the file size in bytes, stored as text.modifiedis the file's modification date converted to UTC and stored as text inYYYYMMddMHHmmssformat (yes, ms included).reportis the normalized MediaInfo output.updated_atis an integer containing Unix seconds (it doesn't have any real use yet, but probably will later).- The stored report has been changed so that each "group" (General, Audio, etc.) is now an array, including
General(which used to be an object and therefore required special handling in several places).
