Selecting files with Select has become a bit more difficult with the arrival of expandable folders. With this feature turned on, the pattern might match more items in a file display compared to expandable folders turned off.
Wouldn't it make sense to give Select a PATH argument to make the selection unambiguous?
(Scripts can already do this with cmd.AddFile() and Select FROMSCRIPT. And, not to be forgotten: SelectEx)
