of course I really want this problem fixed, because i have to open pdf files veryday..
As I have done all i can do .the others left I think is for the developer:) If have something i can do . Feel free to call me..
We can't see that this is actually an Opus problem. The problem is with Acrobat or something else under windows.
Opus is just reading the folder and accessing the file for details (possibly through a plug-in if you have these turned on for extra details) but Opus is not creating extra files. There is no way that it can do this.
So, it has to be something related to these specific files themselves which causes a callback to some system call or function that creates a temporary file.

Hi greg,
I also think that this is not an Opus problem before, but I use Windows Explorer to read folder which contain pdf files, didn't have the problem.
But I use Opus to read the folder which contain pdf files, some pdf files will trigger the problem, but some didn't.
May be the plugins problem, how to remove the plugins?
Also try turning off all columns except Name, Size, Modified. Maybe when Opus populates the Description column something is being triggered.
Make sure you're not causing tooltips to appear, either, as these can cause external programs to be triggered.
On the flipside, maybe if you hover over such a PDF in Explorer to generate its tooltip there you'll see the same 0-byte files appear under Explorer?
I am still confused about why I can't even open a PDF file with unicode characters in its name. Sigh @ Adobe Acrocrap.
Hi nudel,
I deleted the plugin pdftext.dll form C:\Program Files\GPSoftware\Directory Opus\Viewers
I have been thinking on this for an hour now and I'm more confused than when I started.
I have no knowledge at all !
I don't know why this fixed FanKoo's problem.
This thread certainly has been a tribute to the Human Spirit !
@FanKoo
I'm very happy you have solved your problem !
The original problem was this:
I'd feel even better if I could see this fixed .
I'd very much enjoy seeing a picture of the problem fixed.

Because it finally highlighted where the problem actually was in a plug-in in the sub-code we used in the pdftext viewer which came from public sources and had an unforeseen issue with some Unicode file names.
