Pin to Taskbar

I have a laptop computer that i put Opus on and it pinned to the taskbar with no problem.
On my desktop computer, when i try to pin it to the taskbar, i don't have that option. The only option i have is to (Close this program).

Someone please tell me how to correct this problem

Are both machines running Windows 7? You can only pin to the taskbar with Windows 7.

I don't ever remember seeing an option to pin Opus to the taskbar. Windows provides ways to pin programs to the start menu but the taskbar is a new one on me. I just drag and drop the programs I want to be on my taskbar (and then I lock it).

(Note, just saw Leo's post, no wonder I've never seen that option since I haven't seen Windows 7 yet)

@John
If you haven't already done so, try Taskbar Shuffle .
It does take some time to adjust to, but in time you may find more of its settings very useful.
Get it now before Windows 7 is released. :wink:

Dave

Thanks Dave (are you THE Dave I know from the upper midwest of the USA?) but I'm using True Launch Bar to manage my taskbar which only has 4 small icons.

Every thing else I launch from Opus.

This program is not windows 7 ready

Yes both machines are running windows 7

Try this: go to this directory

C:\Users(YOUR USERNAMER)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

And copy the opus shortcut into it.

There's no reason to use/want Taskbar Shuffle on Windows 7 since everything it does is built into the OS now (finally!).

@Leo,
Thanks, I should have made that clearer.
Been busy .....

@ John
Yes, I'm the Dave you know.
We do respect kilts, bagpipes, and good hearty laughter over dinner at a quaint pub.

Quite by accident, I've found some video of the character of your Avatar.
It's from the DVD "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965) ".

Any idea who Scred is ?

Lets keep the thread on topic please.

I put the the opus shortcut there, but the icon does not stay pinned. When I exit the program or restart my computer the icon is not on the taskbar. Do you have anyother ideas?

Have you removed the shortcut arrows from your shortcuts? That will break it apparently.

I put the shortcut arrows back and it solved my problem. Thanks so very much for your help. I owe you one.
