I would like to know how to print just the names of folders alphabetically that are on a hard drive and not everything else. I would also like to know how to print the folder names in a single folder without having to print all of the file names.
Greatly appreciated, it works fine. Is there a way to not only print main folder names but the sub folders as well, also with no file names.
Thanks !!
Turn on the Flat View option near the top of the Print Folder dialog.
Hi Leo, it did not do what I wanted.
I have a hard drive that has multiple folders that each contain multiple folders.
For example I have a folder that has James Bond as it's name.
In that folder I have individual folders named for each movie that contain the movie files.
I have another folder that has Star Trek as it's name.
In that folder I have individual folders named for each movie that contain the movie files.
I would like to be able to save an excel file that I can open that would contain the main folder name and then list the folders names contained in that folder. I don't want all of the individual files listed, just an alphabetical listing of the main folders and the folders contained in that also alphabetically.
I would like to be able to print it also.
Thank you and have a great day,

You still need to use the Folders Only filter...
On my system, doing this starting at the root (C:) generates over 72000 hits and takes a long time. You might be better served using the Everything utility to do what you want. Run it with the type:folders option. You can select all matches and export as an EFU (text) file which would be relatively easy to convert to CSV.
Actually, now that I have tried it, here's a couple of options.
In Opus perform a Find (Ctrl-F) with the Folders Only filter applied in the Advanced Panel. With the results displayed, Edit --> Copy Full Pathnames (Ctrl-Shift-C) and paste into Excel to get what you want.
In Everything, search with type:folders then Select All then File --> Copy Full Name to Clipboard (Ctrl-Shift-C) and paste into Excel to get what you want.
