Now that I have QuickView Plus 11 installed, and it automatically added a host of viewer capabilities to Opus 9 and Windows Explorer into my Win 7 64 bit machine, I have an added questions re a file extension.
WCM files are WordPerfect macro files, which can be opened in WP to veiw, edit et al, since they are essentially the same as WPD files, but just named differently. In QuickView Plus 11, they can be viewed, just like a WPD file. But in Opus 9, since the extension is "WCM", the Opus viewer does not make the connection, and they cannot be viewed.
If I changed the extension from WCM to WPD, they will view just fine in Opus 9, but of course that is not a practical approach for viewing these files in Opus 9.
Is there any way that I can tell Opus to assume that the WCM extension should be viewed as if it were WPD?
Lacking this, I can of course just load QVP 11, and view them there. But I would like to view them in Opus 9 64 bit.
I did that, and the wcm files now are viewed in Opus 9. It is not clear to me how this process works. There are two lists displayed. The right hand one, where I added in "WCM" appears to be the master list for each of the items selected in the left hand list. But in the QuickView line item (horiz list) neither WPD nor WCM show there, even though they do show on the right hand list which pops up when QuickView Plus is selected.
It looks like the line string has been truncated at the end.
I resized the list column, but I did not have to, as there is a scroll bar there. The column is not the place where the extensions are missing - it has them all. The line string stops at "sam.sd". And it also has a horizontal scroll bar, but scrolling to the end still show only the "sam.sd". Actually, "sd" is not the full extension shown in the column - it should be "sdc". So it seems as if there is insufficent space allocated for the string listing, and it gets truncated byt the software.
Actually, 24 extensions are truncated from the string list, but they all show in the column listing.
