Questions re application bar and path display

I have 2 questions re Opus 9

  1. I used to have the path reflecting the focus location of the cursor displayed at the bottom of the Opus window, and when I clicked on a small icon at the start of that path display, it converted the path info to one which could be copied to the clipboard. That no longer displays there. I've searched help, and the options, but cannot locate that option. Can you please remind me where that is located.

  2. I have an icon for NoteTab Pro in my applications bar. The executable field displays

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NoteTab Pro 6\NotePro.exe" {F!}

And when I put the focus on a file in the listing, and click on the NoteTab icon, that document opens in Notetab. So I assumed that the {F!} parameter is what makes that happen. When I add an icon in the application bar for QuickView Plus, that icon does of course open a Quickview Plus window. But when I then add a space, and {F!} as a parameter, clicking on the icon still opens QuickView Plus, but does not display the jpg (or any other file) where the focus happens to be on.

So, is this not the proper parameter string to use?

Thanks

Ron Hirsch

  1. The first question is does QuickView Plus accept a fileid as a command line parameter? I have no idea what the answer is, but if it happens to be "No", then, of course, this won't work whatever parameter you use.

Bob,

I had checked in the help, and they had the standard protocol for a command line parameter.

But upon closer examination, I discovered that the help file in the standard version is actually the common help file for both the standard, and Pro versions.

And, they do state the command line capability is only available in the Pro version. And I have the standard version - so I'm out of luck in thsi regard.

I do still need an answer on my first question.

Thanks -

Ron Hirsch

Sounds like you mean the path location bread crumbs field. To add that to a toolbar, put Opus in customize mode, then in the Commands section of the dialog, type bread in the filter field and you should see Path Field as shown in the below screen grab. Drag that to your toolbar, exit customize mode, and you should have it.

John,

John,

Thanks - that's what I was looking for. It used to be at the bottom, below the files listing, where there is now just the name of the current folder. But having it on top, in one of my toolbars is just fine.

And, I dragged it out to be able to display very long paths.

If I had know it was called "breadcrumbs", I could have found it in HELP. But I did not know that was its name - but I do know.

I'm afraid I have another question. I would like Opus 9 to open to the last lister that was used when shutting it down.

I went into Settings>Preferences>Launching Opus>Startup, and I selected the radio button that said to open to the last lister, when Opus was shut down.

But, no matter what folder I have loaded when I shut down, it reopens to the same folder, which happens to be one of my favorites.

If must be doing something incorrectly, but I can't spot it.

Ron

If you have something showing the name of the current folder at the bottom, that must be a toolbar, I think, so you could probably drag the breadcrumbs location bar there if you wanted to. Or maybe you want to get rid of that toolbar since I'd think it would now be redundant if all it does is show the name of the current folder.

Right Click on opus tool bar\customize\commands\all commands\Path Field (Breadcrumbs). Drag it onto Opus and size to your liking.

Displays current path and lets you select anywhere on the path.

I agree it is one of the great ones in Opus.

Bob

You can also right-click it and choose the full width option to make it fill any unused space in the toolbar, which is usually good for path fields.
