I would like to see at least 50 recent folders I accessed. I entered 50 in the Preferences but it only shows the default number of recent items.
Also can I view the History list showing recent 50 or more items. This is the most useful aspect of this software if it works otherwise File Explorer is good enough.
Recent folders and Recent Items in File Explorer show a large number of recent items.
Preferences / Frequently Used Paths / Recent List
Change the value in "Maximum size:" to 50.
I did change it to 50 but it still showed only the recent 11 which I believe is the default.
I closed the window and restarted DO but now the back arrow is greyed out?
How do I access the History?
Try to disable
Ignore filesystem folders that are only transited
I just did that.
however I cant access the Recent List because the Back Arrow is greyed out an unresponsive.
Pl also answer my other questions.
How do I access the History?
History is per tab.
I new tab is created it does not have any history so "Back Arrow is greyed out an unresponsive".
The back arrow shows the History, not the Recent List.
(History is all the folders the current tab has navigated through since it opened. Recent is last few folders which have been used in any window/tab.)
Got it.
how do I view the Recent list ?
Click RMB on "Arrow Up" button and choose Recent Locations.
RMB on Left Arrow shows REcent Locations.
What is the largest number I can use in Maximum Number for Recent Locations. 100? 200?
For me it shows history of tab.
Another way is the drop-down on the right of the path field.
It would be useful to access Recent Files as FE does, and not just Recent Locations.
Where do I enter this?
It's a dynamic button and should sit inside a menu. This menu can be placed anywhere you want. I've put some in my file display toolbar:
Thanks! Greatly appreciated.
After I learnt how to create a button, that displays Recent Items from FE which is what I wanted.
I see you have Recent (Office) Files. What is the Command for that?
Go PATH="/appdata\Microsoft\Office\Recent" FOLDERCONTENT=nodirs
@lxp
/recent points to a subfolder with entries like:
C:\Users\LocalDell\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations\37795a05e3eab902.customDestinations-ms
Doesn't seem to have anything to do with a list of Recent folders or files What is going on?
What commands did you use for all those separate recent folders and files buttons in the screen shot? TIA
That folder only contains Internet Shortcuts. Upon clicking it seems to retrieve the file to save locally.
