Remove Box Sync folder from Folder Tree

Uninstalled Box Sync from Windows 10 Build 1709. The Box Sync folder does not appear in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer. However it does appear in the Folder Tree pane of Directory Opus.

The Box sync folder is a stale artifact left over from the uninstall. How can I purge it from the Directory Opus folder tree?

Look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace and it's probably one of the entries there. If you select each one you should see a name on the right.

Don't forgot to complain to the people who make Box Sync that their uninstaller doesn't work properly.

Hi Leo,

I found the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace{4A8FCD9F-623C-4283-96F0-10F41846A98A} with a REG_SZ type and Data filed "Box Sync".

Deleting the key and rebooting had no effect. The Box sync entry remains in the DOPUS folder tree.

Check under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well.

The problem key was at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{4A8FCD9F-623C-4283-96F0-10F41846A98A}.

Deleting that entire key removed the Box Sync folder from the DOPUS Folder Tree.

Thank you for your assistance. This ticket can be closed.
