Rename panel
Suggestion to :

  • add and/or remove characters
  • option : counting backwards
  • option : add characters: at position
    remove characters: from position
  • insert characters (option: overwrite or insert)

123 filenamexyz-abc.jpg

remove 4 characters
then
insert: abc at position 4
to get fileabcnamexyz-abc.jpg

=

John Zeman has created some buttons to do this. I would dig them out but I've got no time right now. Check the "Rename Presets" forum.

You can do this very easily now, by directly editing the filenames, with the macro mode introduced in Opus 12:
