Hi everyone.
I read the FAQ and searched the forum for an answer to my question but didn't find one. I found a few posts with some great info and learned a lot but I just need one additional piece of info.
When using the "Rename" feature, as we all know, a second screen pops up which allows us to select the proper script from a list of whatever has been added or already included. After selecting the proper script, I have 2 questions about the process that follows:
- When/if I mess up and decide to cancel the rename operation, is there a way to avoid having to select the "Cancel" button for every single file that was selected at the beginning of the process? In other words, if I select 50 files to rename, and then I decide to cancel the rename process, I currently have to select "Cancel" for all 50 files instead of just clicking the button once. Please tell me there's a way to avoid this somehow...
- Is there a way to edit the rename process so I don't have to type everything twice? For example, if I'm adding a few words at the beginning of each file, I currently select the proper script and then add the words when asked for them. At that point, the results are shown in the preview screen at the bottom window. When I select the "Ok" button, I have to repeat the entire process again. In all honesty, I don't understand why this is necessary. If the preview screen shows that the files will be properly renamed, shouldn't they be renamed immediately after clicking the "Ok" button? Why should I have to waste time typing the same info again? On the other hand, if I noticed something went wrong, I could just click "Cancel." Oh - that's right, if I click "Cancel" I have to do it for every single file that was going to be renamed - which brings us back to question #1 - another waste of time.
In all seriousness, I love Dopus and think it's a great app. I just don't understand why the above two items are necessary as they really do waste a lot of time.
I apologize if I missed the answers to my questions in a previous post. Evidently, I haven't quite gotten the hang of the forum's search function yet since "leo" usually finds a link to the answers for my questions in a previous post. All I can say is "thank you" and - at least I tried...
Thanks!
