When I convert a picture from one format to another, and a picture with that name already exists in the folder, I get an option to replace that one or all of the duplicates. Is there a way to get a box with the option of renaming one (or all) of them? If I want both pictures in one folder, I have to move the offending picture into another folder and then continue the conversion, then move the first one back again, and this time I will be given the renaming option. Thanks.
You can type a new name for the new file in the dialog that appears asking if you wish to overwrite.
Just change the name in the lower half of the dialog and the Replace button will turn into a Rename button. (That's why the new name in the lower half is editable.)
Thanks for the quick reply. That would work. But say you have 100 images that clash. It would be nice to just click one box, and have them renamed automatically, instead of having to rename each file in a pop-up box. It just seems strange that you would have the option for copy, but not convert.
If you link your account we can look into adding that.
For now the best way would be to do the conversion into a temporary folder (open a destination panel/window and use the command Image CONVERT instead of Image CONVERT HERE) and then move all the files to where you want them afterwards, which will allow you to Rename Old/New All as desired.
