I would like to request a feature that allows adjusting the font color or icon brightness in the file display area to visually distinguish the source and destination panes. I personally do not prefer relying on the address bar or tab color to tell them apart.

what could be probably useful for your ' visually distinguish the source and destination panes' is:
Preferences - Colors and Fonts - Directory Opus Colors - Other Colors -
Folder tabs : Destination
Other settings there may also useful.
Thanks，I know I'm using this option now, but I don't like this way of differentiation, so I made a new suggestion.
The options to change background color and fade out selections already provide this functionality.
We aren’t going to duplicate every color for each tab state as it would become too complex for users to work with.
