Sir, Recently i observed that when i resize the name column or bring the "size" column near to the "name" column, it is not remembering the adjustments for
columns between sessions.
Folder Formats: Quick Guide explains how to save that kind of change as the default.
Also note that you may need to turn off the Auto-size columns option on the Display tab in the same dialog.
where is the display tab
In the Folder Options dialog. The first step of the guide shows how to open it.
and where is folder options? i cannot see it in preferences.

Sorry for the late reply, i have tried all the steps u have described in the guide,still now it's not remembering the resizes between sessions.
Do you want the name column to be a fixed size, or do you want to resize it differently at different times and have it remember the last size you used?
i want it to be of fixed size in all tabs,which displays the files.
The guide + details above should be all you need in that case.
