Revamping the internet, the www, bing, microsoft, other search browsers

Hi all users!
The longer I use my PC the more frustrated I get with all the software and the millions of things one has to do before you can get an imperfect solution to an issue.

  • 1 - why does there have to be so many files like dll, azw, pop45, ast, etc, etc as many of them are duplicated all over the place taking up unnecessary space - can't everyone agree on a protocol to simplify everything. I realise there will be security concerns, but I am sure somebody can come up with an answer. A good chunk of the users are, like me, not that computer savvy so most of the jargon used is way above our head, and so it would be great if everything is simplified. Once suggestion would be either you or others have a competition for computer users to come up with ideas. One big thing for me is the search for files, themes etc is never very easy even with AI and search engines like DuckDuck and Google for they all give you lots of sites that have no bearing on the subject. (PS Why is the box so small?

Not sure what connection this has to Opus or anything anyone reading this forum has control over.

We can't change the fundamental way computers and operating systems are designed, and a lot of the complexity is inherent to how complex things actually are.

If you find DLLs etc. confusing and don't understand why they exist, it's probably best not to think about them or look at / do things to the folders containing them.

Best thing is, Leo said it, to ignore those files, as long as the stuff that you intend to do works. I, for instance, don't even have my C: drive listed under my standard drives bar. But i sort of understand your concern, there is a lot of bloat out there. For example, i bought a new mouse a couple of days ago and wanted to re-assign the extra mouse buttons.

The manufacturer of that mouse kindly offered me a software to change the basic functions of those two little buttons. Nothing short of a tiny 250MB software, plus being forced to register an account and get some AI stuff forced onto me. Well, i renounced that humble offer by that very large mouse company , and preferred a 3MB free mouse software, which, i'm sure, can do a hundred times more useful stuff, and feel happy about that decision.
