I want to copy a directory structure and move all files within the source to the destination. I think this can be done with Robocopy. Can Directory Optus do this?
Maybe you talk about a different thing, but doesn't the following do what you want?
- Go the top-most folder of the directory structure you want to copy
- Select the "root" folder and copy to destination

If you're asking if Opus can move a folder & sub-folders from one place to another then yes, of course.
Just select the folder you want to move in the "source" file display, have the place you want to move it to in the "destination" file display, and click the Move button on the toolbar. Or use drag & drop, etc.
If you're unfamiliar with the "source" and "destination" concepts in Opus, go to the Tutorials section and watch the short video on working with multiple listers.
What a seemingly odd request... can't ANY file manager in the world do exactly this (including Windows Exploder)?
Could it be he wants to leave the "directory structure" on the "source" and just MOVE the FILES to an identical dir structure in the detination without removing the source dir structures?
@slouw: If that's the case, give a holler... I think the answer is to use a copy filter which should do this for you.
Sorry been walkabout. I also did not say what I meant first off. Sorry for confusion - of course Opus/Win Explorer etx can copy a folder, subfolders and their contents. I want to do the following:
- Move certain files from source to destination;
- Source = Folder structure with files in various subfolders
- Files to copy filtered by Time/Date stamp. e.g. All files with Time/Date stamp within 2007;
- Destination to retain folder path the same as the source.
Basically as you will have worked out by now this is an archiving activity.
Copy filter sounds promising. Will do some reading now......
The copy filter should let you do all of that. Turn it on via the Settings menu and the next time you move/copy you'll be asked to define the filter.
