To have the same on going settings including collections between 2 machines, is it possible to make a symbolic link on a usb drive to
AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus?

The same files in that directory can be used for 2 different machines?

Depending on the type of USB drive, it might slow things down, but I can't think if any reason that it wouldn't work.

Thank you. These are the same settings that Settings->Backup saves? If you copy AppData\Roaming\GPSoftware\Directory Opus, you don't need the backup done by Opus anymore?

Just copy AppData\Local\GPSoftware\Directory Opus either and then you have all backup files.

It's best to use the backup function if you want a backup, since there are (less important) files in other folders as well, and it also ensures the config is written to disk and not being modified while the backup is made, which won't happen with a manual copy.

But doing a manual copy will usually be OK as well, especially if you exit Opus first (File > Exit Directory Opus; don't just close the window).
