is it possible to use the dopus image viewer to save the current modified image with the same date modified/created?
my use case is that i have a folder with a ton of images and i wanted to make a crop of an image the same way i would resize an image, except when i try to crop the image its extremely far away and i have to manually type out the dates to place it back down next to the original.
While the viewer won't preserve metadata when saving new versions of images, the Image Converter will.
The Image Converter can do cropping, although it's more aimed at batch jobs where you'd enter the crop coordinates via the keyboard rather than select a rectangle with the mouse.
Edit: The viewer also preserves metadata inside the file; I was wrong about that, and thinking of that type of date rather than the filesystem one.
The modified date is supposed to change when you edit a photo.
If you want to see the date the photo was taken use the Date/Time Original column, which displays a photo’s EXIF DateTimeOriginal, and that won’t change when photos are edited or converted.
