Since my first DO-version I used "Scripts"-folder to store additional commands and tools I like to backup with DO and also export to USB. Now I noticed that there's also a "User Data"-folder (didn't notice that this one was added in the past ).
They're both the same. We were going to reclaim the Scripts folder for actual scripts, and created User Data as a substitute, but realised using Scripts could cause problems if it contained other script files, so we used Script Addins for that and left Scripts alone.
So the only difference between Scripts and User Data are the names.
I'd use User Data on new setups as the name better matches its purpose, but if you have existing thing in Scripts then there's no real reason to move them.
