Hi. I'm using V12.17 & find that when searching using the search field in the toolbar area, if a negative sign is included in the search criteria, it finds nothing even though there are matches.

What happens with the same search in File Explorer?
The search field on the toolbar just passes the query to Windows. How Windows interprets it is up to it, and the negative sign may need escaping or placing inside quotes to stop it meaning "exclude this word" or "range of characters/numbers". (In that case it would be the query that's incorrect rather than the results.)
(Opus also has Tools > Find Files, which is its own search functionality, independent of Windows.)

It appears that the negative sign can be used in place of the operative "NOT"
