Select All Context Menu Item

Windows' native select all context menu command doesn't seem to work in DO (I assume because it's issuing specific commands to Windows Explorer instead of any generic file manager). How can I create a right-click, select all context menu command for DO that includes: select all | invert | none | and DO's native select all command that displays the select all dialog pictured below.context

select all

Is that a Windows 11 thing? The screenshots don't look like Windows 11, but there isn't a native select all menu in Windows 10 or earlier, at least that I know of. Something else may have added that.

You can use the select all command in Opus for this. Just add it to the menu of your choice. It really doesn't belong on the folder contest menu, however, since it doesn't act on the selected folder, it acts on the current folder. It would make more sense in the lister background context menu.

(It also already exists in the default Edit menu and on the Ctrl-A hotkey.)

No, you are right. It's not in Windows 10 by default but you can add the context menu command illustrated with a registry script, that, unfortunately, doesn't trigger anything in DO.

OK. So I can add the DO select commands to my tool bar. But I'm still confused about how to add it to a right click context menu choice, preferrably cascading among the choices like the posted Windows illustration.

Settings > File Types > All Folders would add it to the same place (but adding it to that menu is wrong. :))

From the File Types Directory, I selected "All Files and Folder" and added the select all function to the context menu and that seems to work fine on files and folders. is there a way to add "invert" selection and/or the DO select all wild card dialog, then I will be a happy camper.

Have a look at the Select command in the manual.

Hover the mouse over "Opus Manual" at the top-right of any forum page, then click "Internal Commands" in the menu that opens, and it'll take you to the documentation for all the commands, where you can find out how to do that kind of thing.

Thanks for being so patient and helpful. I'm up and running now. Absolutely wonderful application.
