How can i select all "today modified" files?
Would "modified within the last 24 hours" be enough, or does it have to be literally "modified today?"

Create a button set up like the first screen grab below and then set the advanced select filter like the second screen grab below.
You can also save the filter shown in John's second screenshot, and then have a button which runs Select FILTER "YourFilterName" which uses it instantly without displaying any windows.
