Select previous folder when going Up option

Hi forum,

There is a new Select previous folder when going Up option in Preferences / Folders / Options. When enabled, Opus will automatically select the previous child folder when the Up button is used to go to the parent folder. This is similar to the existing Highlight previous folder on Up/Back option (the two are not mutually exclusive) but causes the folder to be selected rather than just showing a blinking underline.

I have the latest version of DOpus (9.0.0.9 -- btw, why can't I see the version number from Help->About, as in every other software?). However, I can't find that "Select previous folder when going Up option".

The version number should be shown directly below the Opus logo at the top of the About window. Could you show a screenshot of your About window? Maybe something goes wrong on your system.

I can't find that "Select previous folder when going Up option".

See below, though it looks like this option is missing from your version. Maybe a problem with the German translation, or you're not using the version you thought you were?

Further, I can see from your screenshot that the "go up selection" option is there in your language version. It is however not there in mine...?

Are you sure you're definitely using 9.0.0.9? The About dialog does include the information, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see it.

I suggest you re-download the current version from H&P and reinstall, and if you still don't see the option then contact us directly for assistance.

Something has happened to the command definition of your About command - go into Customize mode and edit that menu item. The command should be Help ABOUT.

now that this is fixed here's what my version information says:

But I still don't get the "go up selection" option.

Btw, I usually download the latest version from your server because it seems that H&P don't always carry the latest version.

The version we distribute does not normally contain the German language file - so I would say your language file is out of date

Ahh...

However, I just installed the German version from H&P, but still my language file has a file date of May 2007; and that option still does not turn up?

Did you reboot after installing? If so and it didn't solve it you should mention it to H&P at their forums for the quickest response. (Or email them directly. I'm not sure what their support policy is.)

Ok -- rebooting (actually I didn't but instead renamed some temporary language files did the trick. The broken umlauts are gone, and the "go up selection" option is there and working.
