Separate File Find Window

In Opus 10 I would like to do Dopus Searches in a separate window. This was the standard functionality in OPus 9. I could not find any place in preferences to set this. Is this possible or am I stuck with the "Utility Panel"?

The utility panel is all there is, but you can make a layout which opens a new window with the utility panel on it, and use that in a similar way to the old separate Find window.

Thanks for the quick response.

How can I do this?

Set up a window how you want it, with the utility panel open, then use Settings -> Lister Layouts to save it as a new layout.

How you open the layout depends on what you want to do. e.g. Hotkey? Toolbar button? The command will be something like Prefs LAYOUT="Your layout name" or Go CURRENT LAYOUT="Your layout name" (the 2nd one will open the layout with the same folder as the current window).

Hi,

Hmm, I appreciate the replies but the news is not what I was hoping find.

Am I correct in concluding that there's no possible way in Opus 10 to have the separate Find Window we had in previous versions? IMO, removing the Find Window is a significant change that has a substantial effect on how I use Opus every day. Please register my vote for this feature to be made available as an option.

IAC, I appreciate your workaround suggestion and I'll try the Lister Layout approach and see if that does the trick for me.

FWIW, I think it's fine that Opus 10 is now expanding it's search capabilities to include the Windows search features, etc. as long as they're completely optional and granular (i.e. I can use just the Windows features that I want). The reason I use Opus is for the features that it has the Windows does not offer...

I am agree with other users. Separate File Find Window was very usable in DO9. Is it possible to make it as an option in DO10 ?
