Newbie...trying to find the "Setting/Preference" to list the FOLDER at the Bottom of the File Display column ? I can see it at the Top of the Tab (full drive, etc...). I am also using the DUAL-H with 2 folder trees....thank you...Alfie
Do you mean you want to have all the files listed before all the folders?
If not, can you rephrase the question somehow as I'm not sure what you are asking.
Hey Leo...Sorry it took a day or so to get back to you...Attached is a .jpg of the problems...(1) and (2) are because I changed a setting and don't know what it is ...I orginaally had the FOLDER, FYLE, etc instead of the bars at the bottom of these tabs...(3) Is there a where to NOT show all of the folder that Windows 7 wants to setup, USERS, LINKS, etc...and just MY FOLDERS ???...thank you...Landon
If you want the tabs at the bottom, turn off the Preferences / Folder Tabs / Options / Display tabs at the top option.
Hey Jon...thank you for reply...I do NOT have that Option on...??...I do have DUAL horizontal folder Trees...I am a former user of ExplorerPlus and I am configuring it similar to that setup...Landon
Maybe you want to turn on Preferences / Folder Tabs / Options / Display folder tabs: Always?
I'm not sure as the question is still very unclear to me, at least.
I don't understand what FOLDER and FYLE refer to, but the bars that you've shown as (1) and (2) and which I guess you don't think should be there or don't want to be there seem to be just scroll bars because the amount of data to be displayed doesn't fit horizontally.
I don't know why the scroll bars weren't there before. Possibly because you've added columns that you didn't have previously (I don't know why your column headers aren't displayed, but I guess that's another matter).
You're showing a dual file display (two file displays side by side in the lister). Possibly you previously had only a single file display which therefore had more horizontal room and didn't require scroll bars.
Hey Leo (and Bob...)...thank you for replying...Leo, that was it... "ALWAYS"...I was checking and un-checking everything below it ; Display tabs at top...Diplay tabs at Dual, etc....but nothing was working Until...ALWAYS. Also Display Drive letter in Tab (if I want it)....
The Other QUESTION ( highlited in Red -3) about setup was...in Windows 7 it shows every Folder on the drive, is there a way to Pick a start folder (My Documents or Library or Desktop...) instead of seeing All of them ??
Overall I am very impressed with OPUS, it has a "lot of settings" I missed with...but that means it is customizable for everyone.
Thank you both for your help,
Landon
Are you saying that whenever the contents of a certain drive are displayed you want to see only some of the files/folders on that drive or that when Opus starts you want it to display certain things on startup?
Hey Bob,
I kinda of want both...but I think that the first part of your reply will do both for me "...whenever the contents of a certain drive are displayed you want to see only some of the files/folders on that drive..."...such as Desktop or Libaray at the top of the screen ?....

If that's the issue, I don't know the answer, sorry.
Hey Bob...thank you....I am somewhat computer literate but with Windows 7 they did Library's, and User accounts, etc...and I'm not sure how those work...?? So to simply my question....and I will try to see which folder is the best to start at.
Q: Do you or Leo know how to set OPUS to Open up at a certain folder ??
Hey Bob and Leo...may have found my own answer...FOLDER TREE OPTIONS..."Start Folder Tree at" with a dropdown and choices "Desktop, My Computer, etc..."...Again thank you All for you help...this is an EXCELLANT piece of Software !!....Landon
Hi Landon,
That's one way of doing it. You can also be more specific and have Dopus start in any folder that you pick. Go to the folder you always want Dopus to start in. Then Settings -> Set As Default Lister. Dopus will also remember it's Position, Size, if dual display is on/off, if Tree is on/off etc etc by using this "Set As Default Lister".
Hey ktbcrash,
Good suggestion also. I tried it and the only thing is I like it when it remembers the LAST folder I opened and have that come up. My thing about Win 7 is it shows tooooo many folders that I don't want to mess with. But I do like the fact that "DEFAULT LISTER" saves Postion, Size, etc...so I will experiment.
Thank you,
Landon
Hi Landon,
I think I'm the same way for not liking how many folders are shown in the Tree. So I decided to kind of make my own static tree. It holds shortcuts to all the main root paths that I would use the most. Then I turned the real Tree off and got used to just drilling down from either the Computer (my start) or my made-up static tree. I don't even miss the Tree now I'm so used to it. Going back a few folders is also super simple because of the breadcrumb trail in the address bar.
Here's a screenshot. Left Toolbar is my static tree. Just showing you other ways of how you could do without the Tree if it's showing to much for you. You can also go to Preferences -> Folder Tree -> Appearance -> "Show in Folder Tree:" and uncheck those that you don't want to see.
Good Luck! Yes, Dopus is just awesome!
