Severe UI lag after running DO for a while (approx. 1s delay on folder click)

Hi Directory Opus Team,

I have been using DO for a while, but recently I'm experiencing severe lag. After the program has been running for some time, clicking on any folder results in a delay of about 1 second before it opens. This is severely affecting my workflow.

My Situation:

I have customized DO heavily with many custom buttons and scripts. I suspect one of them might be the culprit, but I don't know how to identify which one.

Is there an internal log or a debug mode I can enable to see what DO is "waiting for" during that 1-second freeze?

Or should I provide a Process Monitor (ProcMon) log? If so, what filters should I apply?

System Info:

OS: Windows 11

DO Version: 13.19

Thanks for your help!

Backup the toolbar/config, then remove half the buttons you suspect may be involved. If it still happens, remove the other half.

If removing one half stops the problem, you know the cause is one of the buttons in that half. Repeat the process until you’ve narrowed it down to a particular button.

That said, the type of problem you describe is more likely to be caused by a shell extension, antivirus, or slow/unavailable network drive. See the troubleshooting section of the FAQs for advice on those.
