Big thank you to the Devs for this long-awaited update.
Speeds are great, and I can finally uninstall Filezilla.
Much appreciation for all of your works, bravo!
Finally! I can do ALL the filemanagment in Dopus again. Thank you Devs, for this GREAT update!
Great update guys, I can now access a couple of sites I originally had to use WinSCP to access. All other SFTP sites in my address book appear to be working without issue also.
Another data point, from the kind of connection where the old code really struggled.
My two SFTP targets are shared hosting here and a VPS in Finland, so round trip times are around [RTT] ms rather than the single digits most people testing this will be seeing. The old SFTP code was several times slower than WinSCP on these links, which is why I stopped using DO for FTP a while ago and kept a separate client around for it.
Setup: 13.25.2 beta, ftp_legacy_sftp = False, ftp_copy_buffer_size_sftp left at the default, key authentication.
Two tests against the hosting, each run in both clients back to back:
- 160 MB single file upload. No measurable difference between Opus and WinSCP.
- Opening a build directory of roughly 1 500 files. Same again, the listing appeared in about the same time in both.
So that's parity with a dedicated transfer client on exactly the workload that used to be unusable here.
Nicely done!
Thank you!
