I'm experiencing an issue where my SFTP upload speeds within Directory Opus are considerably slower than SFTP uploads to the same server within Filezilla. For reference, I'll average about 3.5 MB/sec in Filezilla, and only about 750 KB/sec in Directory Opus. This is on the latest beta version, and the speeds are consistent over time.
It seems this issue has been reported a few times in the past, but no resolution was ever reached. Examples:
What I found on Google/StackOverflow is that the difference is likely due to different optimizations that Filezilla and WinSCP make on top of their Putty implementations. See below links:
- performance - Why is FileZilla so much faster than PSFTP? - Server Fault
- sftp - Copying over SSH via Putty tools is slower than via WinSCP - Server Fault
I'd like to see if it's possible for similar optimizations to be added to Directory Opus's SFTP implementation to make the performance competitive. Thanks!
