when SHIFT-Deleting a (big) folder the window title includes a ": NULL" in the German version.
Most of the times this is not visible as the delete process is very quick but as soon as problems occur (like files not being ready for deletion) this is visible.
Cheers,
Bodo
ps. I think I reported this half a year ago already
Can you tell us the full/exact title of the window or, even better, post a screenshot of it so we know exactly which dialog we're looking for?
(There are a few different delete confirmation and progress dialogs for different situations, and the error may be in the code itself or in the German and/or English language files, so knowing exactly what to look for would help lots, if it's easy to trigger the dialog on your end. Don't worry if it isn't easy.)
FWIW, I can't find an earlier report about this on the forum, unless it was from more than 3 years ago or posted under a different account.
I reported the previous SHIFT DEL problem directly to greg and the problem was resolved (pausing was enough to reproduce it). As a similar problem had been in the code before I would guess that this isn't a localization problem.
But this time it is much more complicated and I wasn't able to reproduce it. It happened when Deleting a file while files in this folder were converted (mp3 files). Suddenly the delete process stopped at a file (yes, without throwing an error that a file is locked) and soon continued again. While it was paused the NULL title was visible). I will continue my efforts to reproduce it.
thanks for looking after this. But I am not sure if your analysis is sufficient. In German this only happens now and then so it might also appear rarely in Dutch. (I had this again right now on a RAM disk with FAT32). BTW. the file names were rather long (maybe there is a connection).
