I am at wits end! I just want to simply create a custom column width for each filed under a dual pane interface for each of the column widths in each pane and it I want it to be thesame for all of my styles. Simple right? however no matter how many time I create the correct widths and set it to cusotem and save it under every concievable option when I hit the style button it goes back to the oringal format. Please help, as I LOVE this program , but soemtimes so frustrating to find out how to do anything
Can you explain what you're actually doing (step by step) as I'm a little confused.
I go to one of my styles, arrange the column widths exactly as I like them, then I try to save that fomat for future views of the style and all of my other styles. What I do step by step is I guess irrelevant becasue it does not work i.e. when I click that style again it is displayed in the "old" colun widths. I have read the FAQs but ti does not help. This must be very simple, no?
But when you say "I try to save that format" what exactly are you doing?
I go to the top of the folder view, right click and the last menue item is "more" and up comes my display column width. I am trying to patse a picure using the above img command but cant get that to work. In any case it has an option to reset to custom at teh bottom of the page, that seems to work ok, but then also three buttons near the top "Save. "Clear" and "Reset" and I have tried every combination of those three to save for all future views and canot get it to work
Make sure you turn off Auto-size columns on the Display tab when editing the folder options.
OK, got it to work, but had to edit every style. Thought the "save" command was to gloablly save for all styles
With the recent updates, we picked up the ability to save changes made to folder options and apply them to "layouts" and "folder tabs" as well as the older existing options. I think somebody asked shortly after we gained that ability for "Styles" to be offered as an option for saving folder option changes as well... It seems this is where you got caught up.
