Slow performance

Hey all, I am feeling frustrated at the performance of Opus. It feels slow. I am using it on my vertical monitor where the folder tree is on the far left full length and on the far right is the preview/meta full height. In the middle are two horizontal folder panes (one on top of the other).

It feels slow when right-clicking (delay as waiting for the context menu to load/show), dragging (delay in registering what I am dragging and where to which is another tab), folder pane refreshing when I change tabs (another delay), waiting for the preview pane to update (I can understand this if its loading a PDF) etc. But altogether my system should not be so delayed! :frowning:

Any ideas? Cheers.

Your system is more than capable. Opus still runs okay on my notebook with a first-gen Core-i CPU.

I'd start looking here:

Thanks @Nobmen for that, going through your points.

Why do you say 3.10.22.706 for chipset driver? Its that version from the mobo pages but that is a few years old and direct from AMD its 6.05.28.016.

Thanks @lxp will check it out.

I updated my chipset drivers, updated graphics drivers, removed redundant or not needed context menu items (there were loads unfortunately), updated bios and changed some settings and the performance is back! Its good enough.

Unfortunately, I am not sure which of the steps helped :open_mouth: thanks for the tips though all.
