Slowness in comparing files in Synchronise

I wish to synchronise a local drive with its equivalent stored on a network drive. This drive contains about 23GB date, several thousand folders and many more files within it.

In Total Commander, it takes about 2 minutes to run the compare part of the Synchronise function. In Opus 9 after 2 minutes, comparing the drives had just reached 10%.

Can this be changed so that works quicker?

The settings you use in the sync panel can have a large impact on how long it takes.

What kind of sync are you doing?

The settings in the sync panel are as follows for Opus:

While the equivalent settings for Total Commander are:

Thanks.

I don't think there's anything you can change there to speed things up, so I guess Opus is just doing things in a slow way in this case.

If you don't want the sync to be interactive -- that is, you just want it to happen and don't need to see a list of changes first -- then you can do it faster by using the Opus Copy command. Doing a two-way sync using the command is a little complicated but I think it would work. Let me know if you're interested in that and I'll experiment a bit to make sure what I have in mind works.

Thank you for the offer, but I do need to see a list of changes first. I will make a proper support/feature request.
